Description
Do you have a stash of fabric or felt scraps that you keep trying to put to use? Well, this fun design is for you. The Abstract Flower Coaster uses three pieces of material of your choice to create a whimsical coaster. You can cut perfect circles for each piece or cut them imperfectly for a different look and feel. If you are using fabric you may want to use a backing or cut them with pinking shears to limit the fraying.
For my samples I used wool felt from Benzie Design and used my Olfa circle cutter (affiliate link) to cut them to my desired size. The design steps include a tackdown of the largest (main) circle of the coaster, and then you simply lay the other two sizes on top where desired. You can use one, two, or three pieces of felt to create a different look each time you stitch them out.
If you have software and a larger hoop, you can combine multiples into one hooping.
